The Last Bits of Heaven

0 Comments | Category: Poetry

The depths of the gaze, the whisper of lips
Beauty unspoken and love's earnest kiss
Such things that defy all wisdom and worth
The last bits of heaven that linger on earth
Though it is beyond understanding, this reality of truth
That this magnificence is contained within her
It is confirmed beyond doubt and my heart is the proof
For simply her voice causes my spirit's stir
For my soul breaches heaven with a touch of her hand
My heart leaps on the sunrise of her smile
In her presence taller I am able to stand
My love for her is forever and final
She deserves vast lands and great palaces of gold
She is worthy…

I Cannot Explain

0 Comments | Category: Poetry

I cannot explain how it prospers and grows
roiling, bubbling, churning and seething
the love that wells up from the depths of my soul
my love, what phrase?
what sentence or speech
could I say so you could possibly see
how wide, how high, how long and how deep
is my love - my love for thee
for words it defies and description denies
though it permeates the whole of my self
surely only God could possibly know
the innumerable vaults of its wealth
for my love stretches farther than the far regions of space
and its reach is longer than time
more abundant than the stars who march without haste
brighter than a…

I Miss You

0 Comments | Category: Poetry

As I sit and watch the sun blaze in the sky,
as the stars awake and the crescent moon raises up high
as the reds turn to blue and blend soon to black
my mind strays to you and I wish for you back

These stars look down at me from their heavenly throne
they hear my lonely heart and its low mournful groans
they pity me, solitary on these vast rolling plains
The familiar aches start as I whisper your name

You are not gone forever, only a period of time
but without your love, how does my spirit I still shine?
So for now it is the stars and I that talk
conversing about you throughout the night as I walk
Bittersweet…

So Painful a Price

0 Comments | Category: Poetry

From the cradle to the grave we seek this mistress
From the enlightened genius to the silent and listless
All are trained to believe in its power
All seek to submit it and all are devoured
Pathetic addicts is what they become
Yearning and striving for a little just some
More of this thing, this object, this demon
For pleasure it brings, happiness, freedom?
If we just had some more! is the hymn that they sing
surely you cannot have too much of a good thing?
Though when the unfocused vision is removed
They find themselves beaten, broken and bruised
Now that they have obtained all that they wanted
It is by…

This Lovely Depression

0 Comments | Category: Poetry

Isn't great to be falling in love?
to set your heart soaring to the great heights above?
eternal springtime, wistful and long
lyrical rhymes bringing forth joyful song
lips for the kissing, the earthy smell of hair
the feelings of passion in the evening air
strong as the eagles! white as the doves!
Isn't it great to be falling in love?

But isn't it great to be all alone?
to be isolated, to never be known
never an arm to carress your back
to fortify the strength you so often lack
You make your own hopes, future and plans
living by wits, never needing a hand
knowing yourself both inside and…

Poem of the Dry Leaf

0 Comments | Category: Poetry

What dry leaf? You evade the footfalls of my steps?
you run, as if afraid of the sole that comes down upon you
yet, run dry leaf run
for you shall rue the day you ran from it
As a coward, lacking bravery
for even now as you flitter about the underbrush
yes even now, as you dance gaily in the wind
the foot shall seek you out, and that foot will find you
and though you will run, you cannot hide from it
beneath it you will be smattered, the foot
which brings justice, shall rend you to your very being
shattered to the pieces of your core!
as the wind blows and the dry sun blazes
your fleeing will be found vain, as your…
