There comes a time in every man’s life when he must face his past. It can be a difficult time for even the pure hearted. But what if a man does not know his past? Every man is the sum of all the choices he has made in his life. If you do not remember what those choices were, who are you? Read more »

Proteus – Chapter 1 Draft

J had them spotted though his scopes. They were notoriously easy to track down. In the silent morning in these quiet woods, the two made so much noise a deaf man would cover his ears in pain. Both Gaston and Haynes were wide in the open, beside a stream. Somewhat disappointed, J decided to waste no time. He fired 3 shots in quick succession at the taller of the two men (presumably Gaston). His rifle kicked back into his shoulders, but his expert hand kept the shots true.

Protues – The Prelude

Brian Grant looked at his instruments in satisfaction. It was all proceeding according to his calculations. The most extreme sort of genetic therapy (could it be called therapy?) was the guiding force behind his experiments. If these series of experiments worked, his research would rock the foundations of both the scientific community and the general public. He could see it already, splashed across the newspapers; “Scientist determines how to manipulate Human Genes” or “Science Improving the Human Genome”, or his favorite, “Genius makes next Evolutionary step for Humans”.

Proteus – StoryLine & Character Concepts

This is a true superhero comic book. However, it is more of a X-Files meets Iron Man meets Batman meets Superman meets Star Wars type comic. There is are a couple clear-cut good and bad guys, but the rest have the freedom to go either way or even stay in the middle.

The Last Bits of Heaven

Post by Jon | Posted in Poetry | Posted on October 19th, 2007

The depths of the gaze, the whisper of lips
Beauty unspoken and love’s earnest kiss
Such things that defy all wisdom and worth
The last bits of heaven that linger on earth
Though it is beyond understanding, this reality of truth
That this magnificence is contained within her
It is confirmed beyond doubt and my heart is the proof
For simply her voice causes my spirit’s stir
For my soul breaches heaven with a touch of her hand
My heart leaps on the sunrise of her smile
In her presence taller I am able to stand
My love for her is forever and final
She deserves vast lands and great palaces of gold
She is worthy of lavishes that strike men as grand
Though I lack such treasures and riches untold
I offer her all that I am
For the depths of her gaze, and the whisper of lips
Her beauty unspoken and her true earnest kiss
The things that defy all wisdom and worth
They are last bits of heaven that linger on earth

I Miss You

Post by Jon | Posted in Poetry | Posted on October 19th, 2007

As I sit and watch the sun blaze in the sky,
as the stars awake and the crescent moon raises up high
as the reds turn to blue and blend soon to black
my mind strays to you and I wish for you back

These stars look down at me from their heavenly throne
they hear my lonely heart and its low mournful groans
they pity me, solitary on these vast rolling plains
The familiar aches start as I whisper your name

You are not gone forever, only a period of time
but without your love, how does my spirit I still shine?
So for now it is the stars and I that talk
conversing about you throughout the night as I walk
Bittersweet memories strike me like arrows poison-laced
as I remember your voice, your touch and your face

Why am I like this! Sick with love every time you go away
when there is no happiness in the moon or sun’s rays
Are you thinking of me this night as I think of you?
Do you look up into the sky meditating on dark hues?
Cold winds start to blow, and my blankets bring me heat
but it is not your warmth, and it is your warmth I need

Of course I will go on, doing the things I need to do
performing the daily tasks; the grind I go through
I walk back inside, no sounds but the tap of my shoes
It will be hard to slumber because…*sigh*, I miss you
